The Fitzroy Island Cairns day package is the perfect way to explore the Reef while visiting the island. Snorkel straight from the beach to view the coral and various fish below. Snorkelers also report swimming alongside the beautiful Green Sea Turtle. In addition to the water-based activities, your day includes time to explore the dense rainforest, which covers 99% of the island.
This package also includes transfers to Fitzroy Island in an air-conditioned catamaran, taking around 45 minutes. The full-day trip provides approximately 6 hours to explore, including your snorkelling.
Moore Reef Outer Barrier Reef Pontoon
Journey to the Outer Barrier Reef on the comfortable, spacious, air-conditioned catamaran. Positioned at Moore Reef is the activity platform with many ways to see the Reef.
Moore Reef is within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
Snorkel in the naturally coral-fringed lagoon while trained lifeguards keep watch. Two snorkel platforms on the pontoon with water access via stairs, providing easy entry to explore Moore Reef. An enclosed ocean pool is excellent for young kids to swim in the saltwater at wading height, while a slide down the 30-metre spiral waterslide is a great way to enter the tropical ocean.
If you prefer to stay dry, there are still plenty of options to explore. A semi-submersible tour is a great way to tour the Reef without jumping in the water, while a glass-bottom boat tour provides views from above. Onboard the pontoon, visit the underwater observatory to view the impressive natural fish tank with views of the outer Reef coral and marine life. A visit to the touch tank gets you up close to marine life while learning about this unique ecosystem.
There is no better way to see multiple types of Reefs on your visit to the Great Barrier Reef!
