• 09:15 am – Check-in a the marina to collect your boarding passes.

• 10:00 am – Your adventure begins! The large, stable vessel provides a smooth journey to the Outer Barrier Reef.
• 10:30 am – Marine biology presentation and diving briefings.
• 11:30 am – Arrive at the Outer Great Barrier Reef Pontoon. The boat stays here for 3.5 hours, which gives you plenty of time to enjoy everything on offer.

Pregnancy

Guests who are pregnant can generally travel on the Quicksilver Outer Great Barrier Reef Cruise provided there are no medical complications. However, scuba diving and Ocean Walker helmet diving are not permitted during pregnancy. As sea conditions can vary, pregnant guests should consult their doctor before travel and remain seated during rougher conditions if advised.

Children and Age Requirements

Quicksilver welcomes guests of all ages.

* Infants aged 0–3 years travel free.
* Child fares apply to children aged 4–14 years.
* Guests aged 15 years and over are charged the adult fare.
* Children under 18 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
* Minimum age for introductory scuba diving is 12 years.
* Minimum age for Ocean Walker helmet diving is 12 years.

Is Quicksilver Suitable for Non-Swimmers?

Yes. Quicksilver is one of the best Great Barrier Reef tours for non-swimmers.

Medical Conditions and Snorkelling

Snorkelling can be a physically demanding activity.

Guests with any of the following conditions should advise crew before entering the water:

Crew members conduct safety briefings and can recommend appropriate flotation devices where required.

Introductory Scuba Diving

No previous diving experience is required.

Before diving:

* All participants must complete a medical questionnaire.
* Certain medical conditions and medications may prevent participation.
* Minimum age is 12 years.
* Additional medical clearance may be required in some circumstances.

Conditions such as asthma, heart disease and some medications may affect eligibility to dive.

Certified Diving

Certified divers must present a recognised dive certification card.

All certified divers:

• • Complete a medical declaration
  • Participate in a guided safety briefing.
  • Must comply with Queensland diving regulations.

Up to two certified dives may be available, subject to weather and operational conditions.

Flying After Diving

For safety reasons:

* Wait at least 18 hours after a single dive before flying.
* Wait at least 24 hours after multiple dives.
* Hot air ballooning and skydiving should also be avoided for at least 24 hours after diving.

These guidelines help reduce the risk of decompression illness.

Dietary Requirements

Quicksilver offers a tropical buffet lunch and can generally cater for many dietary requirements.

Guests with special dietary requests should advise at the time of booking so appropriate arrangements can be made.

Weather Conditions

Quicksilver operates year-round and weather conditions are continuously monitored.

In the unlikely event that weather or operational circumstances prevent the tour from operating:

The Outer Great Barrier Reef often remains accessible even when coastal weather conditions appear less favourable.

Seasickness Advice

Although Quicksilver’s large wave-piercing catamaran provides a comfortable ride, some guests may still experience motion sickness.

Recommendations include:

• • Taking seasickness medication before departure.
  • Eating a light breakfast.
  • Sitting towards the rear of the vessel where movement is often reduced.
  • Staying hydrated throughout the day.

Environmental Information

Quicksilver operates within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and follows strict environmental guidelines.

Guests are asked to:

Never feed marine life unless directed by crew.Use reef-safe sunscreen where possible.
