About the Great Barrier Reef
Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is the World’s largest coral reef. The GBR has over 2,500 individual reefs and over 900 islands and cays. Starting in Bundaberg and extending to the Northern tip of Cape York, the Great Barrier Reef covers three thousand kilometres.
Below the surface, there is over 1500 species of fish and also 400 different species of coral. The reef is also home to six out of the World’s seven sea turtles.
