About Green Island

This island is 12 hectares, and the island’s interior is a tropical vine forest.

Green Island Highlights
Green Island is a stunning 6000-year-old coral cay in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This island is 27 kilometres off the coast of Cairns in Tropical North Queensland.
This island is the only one of the Great Barrier Reef’s 300 coral cays to have a rainforest.
Green Island’s reefs provide a diverse range of habitats for a diverse range of tropical marine life.
