About the Frankland Island tour
Board the air-conditioned coach in Cairns and go south through rainforest mountains and sugar cane fields. Pass by the landmark Walsh’s Pyramid, the tallest freestanding natural pyramid in the world. The journey to the tropical islands where your adventure awaits is full of stunning scenery!
Located 45 minutes south of Cairns, Deeral is the perfect starting point for a relaxing trip on the Turtle Islander along the Mulgrave River. The Frankland Islands are a national park and also a shelter for wildlife. You may go snorkelling just off the shores of the white sand beaches on beautiful Normanby Island. Bordered by rock pools and healthy fringing reefs, this unspoiled island will undoubtedly amaze you. Spend approximately four hours here while you unwind and take it easy, away from the bustle.
Frankland Island Tour
This Frankland Island tour includes guided snorkelling from the beach, where visitors will find pretty coral and fish.
A buffet-style lunch, breakfast, and afternoon tea are included in this tour. After lunch, explore the island with a Master Reef guide and marine scientist to learn about marine life.
Here you can also learn about flora and fauna found in the island’s rocky pools and lush rainforest. The kids will undoubtedly have a blast participating in the unique treasure hunt.

Frankland Island Tour important information for scuba divers
Please make sure you understand the scuba diving laws.
Queensland, Australia, has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world but also the safest scuba diving record.
We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice and comply with all regulations, including medical – as is the law.
To avoid disappointment on your day of travel, we recommend you complete our dive medical questionnaire before booking. Some medical conditions, age and/or medications may prevent you from scuba diving. Our mission is always to provide our passengers with the best Great Barrier Reef experience.
For a single no decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours after a scuba dive. For multiple dives, you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive.
If Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning you must wait 24 hours after your dive. We certainly recommend waiting a minimum of 24 hours whenever possible
A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to re-schedule or alter all or part of a reservation.
Any date change will incur a $20 administration fee.
We are required to notify the operator of any cancellations within the specified cancellation period. It is your responsibility to make sure you submit your cancellation request with adequate time, and during standard business hours (8 am to 5 pm, closed on Public Holidays), to allow us to contact the tour provider. All cancellation requests must be in writing and sent via email to: [email protected]. Any emails received outside of these hours will be considered received the following day. Please be aware that cancellation attempts made through online chat or phone will not be processed.
Cancellation fees are as follows:
20% cancellation fee 48 hours or more before departure
100% cancellation fee within 48 hours before departure and for "No Show"
There will be no refund of any part of your tour costs should you fail to arrive at a scheduled tour departure time. Tour departures may not be delayed due to passenger circumstances - including events beyond your control, medical problems, airline delays, weather etc.
All passengers are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation insurance, evacuation and medical cover. Please read the wording of your insurance policy carefully and ensure it covers you for all potential activities
